Review of the September 2019 Workplace Wellness Ireland Event in Dublin

What a great evening we had last week in partnership with Spectrum.Life and AJ Products at the most recent installment of the Workplace Wellness Ireland events series in Dublin.

The theme for the evening was "Education and Workplace Wellness" and we were privileged to hear from three panelists who discussed the relevant opportunities available at three different third level institutions.

The Panel

First up was Trudi McHugh (Laya Healthcare) who has very recently completed an MSc in Workplace Health & Wellbeing from the University of Nottingham. As this is a distance learning programme, Trudi was able to complete the course (and earn top marks) from her base in Dublin while juggling a full time job and family commitments.

Next we heard from Dave Casey (DeCare Dental) who is currently completing his M.A. in Health Promotion at NUIG. David spoke very highly of the course and of the "Postgraduate Certificate in Health Promotion: Workplace Wellness" which is also offered at NUIG and which is supported by Healthy Ireland.

Finally, Dr. Sarah-Jane Cullinane (Trinity College Dublin) spoke about the Workplace Wellbeing modules that she introduced to her undergraduate and masters students at the Trinity Business School in the last academic year and the learnings that have been taken on board for this year.

Very exciting times in this space. I think we can expect to see more education and training opportunities emerging within the coming years as there is a clear demand for knowledge in the area of workplace wellness in Ireland.

The Attendees

On the night we welcomed our brand new partner AJ Products who showcased one of their fantastic exercise bike and sit-stand desk options.

In keeping with the education theme, our long term partner Spectrum.Life announced details of their soon to be launched Academy.

Energy levels for attendees were significantly boosted thanks to the protein balls and green tea infusions offered by KSG as well as the healthy snacks offered by Fiona's Food For Life and Cathy Soraghan - Women on the Run.

Thanks to our wonderful hosts Bank of Ireland and to Tom James for helping to check attendees in and of course a big shout out to everyone that came along on the evening.

Next Up

Workplace Wellness Ireland is coming to Cork on October 17th, the Portershed in Galway on October 23rd and we are back in Dublin on November 12th at an exciting new host venue. Spread the word!
