Workplace Wellness Ireland - Cork Review

We had a wonderful evening in Cork last night at the second Workplace Wellness Ireland gathering in the rebel county in partnership with AJ Products and Spectrum.Life. We were hosted at the wonderful Bank of Ireland Workbench on Patrick St, where our all star panel discussed "The importance of committed leadership to workplace wellness".

Key Takeaways

It would be impossible to summarise the discussion in a single article but here are my three main takeaways from the evening:

1) We're all leaders, no matter what our role. We are all capable of modelling healthy behaviours
2) Managers are employees too. How are we supporting / training them?
3) Name the baby (you had to be there!). In other words, if you are creating a wellbeing programme at your workplace, brand it properly by giving it a name i.e. Live4Life (the Eli Lilly programme).

Also on the night, attendees got to try out a slick desk bike and sit stand desk thanks to AJ Products AND one lucky attendee won a fitbit courtesy of Spectrum.Life.

Thank You

Huge thanks to all our panelists for giving up their time and contributing so much on the evening:

Dr. Fiona Geaney, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Food Choice Ltd
Una Feeney, Global HSE Consultant EU/Asia, Eli Lilly
Maeve Kiely, Business Development Manager, Laya Healthcare
Eoin Cahill, HR Engagement Lead, Ervia

Thanks to The Snack People for the healthy treats and a big shout out to everyone that came along for making it a really fun and engaging evening (a few images below).

We'll be back in Cork in early 2020.

Yours in health,

Brian
