Cycle to Howth

Waking up early on Sunday morning in Dublin, the sun was shining and there was not a single cloud in the sky. Some weekend exercise was called for. I decided in a split second to bring my bike out of semi retirement (a self imposed retirement following my epic cycle around Ireland) and to head for Howth. What an excellent decision it was.

I took the path on the Royal Canal all the way from my home in Ashtown to the North Strand via Cabra, Glasnevin and Drumcondra. From the North Strand, I skirted past Fairview and the Dublin Docklands before making my way to Howth via the cycle lane on the Howth road. 

The round trip was a little over 40 kilometers on mostly flat ground.I managed to complete about 90% of the cycle on dedicated cycle lane. A beautiful day on the bike and some great light exercise. Check out the video for more:
